The Glass Pavilion is designed with an environmental conscience from the outset. This includes:

• Natural construction materials - macrocarpa weatherboards, eco ply internal cladding
• Green star approved insulation
• Low VOC stains and paints.
• Low emission, argon filled double glazing
• Passive solar design, concrete floors Highly insulated
• All food & wine locally sourced as much as possible
• We recycle as much as is possible so have minimal land fill waste.
• Lake water supply, UV filtered to give pure natural NZ water
• High star energy rated appliances
• Wood fire and heat exchange under floor heating & heat exchange hot water supply (up to 70% less power than standard)
• We use biodegradable cleaning products
• 8 of the 9 acres are in native bush encouraging birdlife. From any part on the property in season one can see and hear tuis, bellbirds, see fantails, wood pigeons and hear the morepork when the sun has set.
