The Grounds
The house opens onto a lawn facing the view. The rest of the grounds are native bush ensuring total privacy to the section and great native birdlife in season. Halfway up the drive there is a 3m diameter boulder that was thrown from the volcano during an eruption in 1886. This volcano is not extinct yet!
Spa
The spa is elevated to maximise the view, and situated adjacent to the end Tarawera suite. It is an ozone spa to minimise allergies. Absolutely private, the spa is set in a backdrop of native bush.
Fire rock pit
On those perfect starry nights, light the brazier and get your fill of the southern stars. You may even hear the call of the native owl (morepork) who lives nearby.
Pergola
Looking to the view, this is the perfect place to have a lazy bbq lunch on a summers day or a feast in the evening.
